Exchange Traded Funds are the most innovative financial product and has been acting as the catalyst in respect to the growth of trade in stock market. With the onset of technology and dematerialization of securities, there is a immense possibility for fetching innovation in financial products in the Indian stock market. This paper examines the innovation of mutual funds in the form of exchange traded funds. ETFs is an index tracking security embracing the attributes of stock, mutual funds and index funds. As a stock, it can be traded within a day and alike mutual funds, it allows for diversification into different stocks similarly as index fund, it is tracking benchmark index. It is complete product for investors seeking to invest their money in stock market by playing safe.
